The Multicultural Health Brokers Co-operative, Gateway Association, and Sage Seniors Association have come together to create an employment brokering project that will help newcomer seniors enhance their work search skills, develop workforce connections, and secure customized employment opportunities that are responsive to the unique abilities and contexts of newcomer seniors. This collaborative proof-of-concept project will provide one-on-one work search and job carving support for newcomer seniors, complemented by cross-cultural education and bridging between newcomer seniors and employers.

During this time of COVID-19, we are here to offer support services to the seniors of Edmonton, and be a source of information and guidance during this time of uncertainty.

While there are other employment brokering services available, none specialize in supporting newcomer seniors who have years of working experience, are skilled, and in many cases highly educated, due to structural barriers, social biases related to racism and ageism, and particularly complex economic vulnerabilities, are among the most marginalized of the marginalized.
